Check'em out! New Shades.

Hi Dolls,

I hope you all had a great weekend in the sun :) I managed to get some time in and made some custom shades. Here are a few that I made...stay tuned for more. I think I've accumulated over 30 new swatches for the past two weekends and I will be posting them this week. Let me know what you think.

Also the swatches are not in the order of the baggies. Unfortunately, I also had to take the picture and I had to move some of the swatches in order to get the entire full frame while holding the camera and focusing with one hand...lol. Below are the descriptions for each of the swatches.

Swatch 1
Is a nice vibrant deep purple and plum hue.

Swatch 2
This color reminds me of blue jeans, its a nice dark sparkly blue.

Swatch 3
This color reminds me of a creamsicle, its a nice orange sherbet color with gold shimmer.

Swatch 4
Is an awesome dark black with gold reflecks.

Swatch 5
Is an olive green with gold shimmer.

Swatch 6
Is also an olive green similar to swatch 5 but on the lighter side and more gold in hue.

Swatch 7
Is a dark periwinkle blue.

Swatch 8
Is a nice shimmer mocha color with a slight pink and dark brown undertone.

Swatch 9
OMG is now one of my favorite highlight colors I made. This color is a nice translucent champagne color with gold reflecks.

What is DOLLFACE MINERALS?

Hi Dolls,

So what is DOLLFACE MINERALS?

DOLLFACE MINERALS, is a line of 100% natural mineral eyeshadow. These eyeshadows do not contain any preservatives, no chemicals, no dyes, just pure crushed minerals. The colors that are in my line are a mix of custom and handpicked colors that I included in my collection. I also have limited edition colors that I will be creating and offering while quantities last. These limited edition colors are custom blended colors that I have created or made during my lab sessions that I will offer to my customers, since I will not be making these in large batches they will only be offered till the product is all gone. I may bring back them back if I receive a request for them.

Who is DOLLFACEBETTIE?

DOLLFACEBETTIE is the name I go by online. I am the  creator of the custom colors and limited editions that you will find in DOLLFACE MINERALS. I have been interested in makeup, since birth...okay well atleast for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite memories from my childhood was melting crayons. I know, what does crayons have to do with makeup...well I discovered that my mom's lipsticks were meltable just like the crayons and it all started from there. I loved the melting, mixing and molding process. I would make my own lipsticks, lipgloss, nail polish colors and anything I can melt or mix. Due to my passion for makeup, I decided to share my thoughts, reviews and  and custom custom creations to my friends, my family and my online friends.

Also, I am a one woman show. I do everything and I mean that literally. I do all the printing, designing, labeling, mixing, packaging design and production, shipping, web design and development and  promoting. I put a lot of passion into my creations along with a lot of hard work. This is what I love to do and it is all worth it.

Product Review: Sally Hansen Lipnotic in Precious

Hi Dolls,

Here is a product review for Sally Hansen Lipnotic in Precious. I used this gloss in the following LOOK #0001. This is a fun gloss with lots of sparkle and gem like qualities, see the photo above. I thought it was funny that it sparkled like a gem when I took the photo. Sally Hansen does claim that these glosses create a look of glittery gems under glass and it does I also give it a rating of 4 out 5 hearts.

Sally Hansen Lipnotic in Precious  ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

PRO
These glosses could be dupes of MAC dazzle glass. These glosses are very similar in look and feel, however MAC dazzle glass might be a little bit more reflective with the reflecks. The consistency and texture of this gloss in my opinion is a bit better than the dazzle glass glosses. The consistency, texture and tack is a the right amount for lipgloss mixtures that I like. Its not too thick and not too thin, it doesn't come off when licking your lips multiple times.  It does have a slight tack to it but its not tacky. The texture is also surprisingly smooth for as much glitter that this gloss contains. When I rub my lips its not gritty at all, its just nice and smooth. There is also no fall out of glitter, the glitter stays put and the gloss and shine is long lasting.

I love the color of "Precious", its a nice sheer, translucent barely there pink gloss. The product itself looks like a shimmery white gloss with pink, purple, blue shimmer. I own about 7 of them in different shades and shimmer. I think Sally Hansen carries them in a total of 10 colors. These glosses are very sheer and not heavily pigmented. Even the darkest color I have goes on with a sheer tint. The glitter also gives it a different color when applied.

The packaging is great, its clear so you can see what the product looks like. I also find the texture of the brush cap appealing its just nicely textured reminds me of "diamonds in the rough". This also uses a brush applicator like MAC dazzle glass glosses.

CON
The only thing I don't like about this gloss, is the fragrance and taste. It has a sweet floral smell and after taste. I am not a floral person, I love fruity smelling things so I might have a little bias on that. But with that said, its really not too bad, especially if you lick your lips. The gloss stays pretty much on your lips so I am not tasting it all day long.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
These glosses also contain botanicals, mineral and vitamin nourishment that hydrates and soften the lips. My lips definitely feel nourished after a long day of wearing these glosses.

Look #0001

Hi Dolls,

Here is a fun and easy look I created. This looks is easy enough for any of you that are beginners in applying makeup. I am using dollface minerals in #11 and #7. These colors are also available for purchase from me, see the Order Form to your right. The example swatches in the jars look a bit darker in the photo but if you look at the application that is pretty true to color for the product. #11 looks more of a hot pink on the blue-red side and #7 is a nice shimmery purple.

Note: The instructions below are specific to applying the eyeshadow colors. I have already prepped my face with a base primer, foundation, face powder and eyeshadow base primer. If you would like me to create a tutorial for applying your base makeup let me know and will put something together.

GET THIS LOOK #0001

COLOR #11
1. With a small eyeshadow brush, apply color all over your lid.
2. With a crease brush apply the color on your crease, following your crease line from the outer corner to inner corner of your eye.
3. Use a small or large eyeshadow brush, apply the color above your crease line. You will want to apply the color wider on the outer corner of your eye and thinner to your inner corner of your eye.
4. To add a little more pop, I dampened my small eyeshadow brush with water and applied a little more of the color over my entire lid. This will give it more of a hot metallic pink.

COLOR #7
1. With a dampened eyeliner brush, I mixed some of the dry eyeshadow color with my eyeliner brush.
2. With the eyeliner brush, I applied the color to the lower lash line. Starting from the outer corner to inner corner of my eye.

FINISH THE LOOK:

To complete the look, I applied black eyeliner above my upper lash line and applied black mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Now your look is finished, I hope you enjoy. Send me some pics if you tried out this look.
